Kathy tagged me in this, expect hers was 3X3. Pick the 4th picture in the 4th folder in your my pictures and blog about it.This is a picture of Brent and Claire. They are two of my best friends. Claire and I met when I was 14 and have been really great friends since then. We were roommates last year and I miss her a lot this year. She is so much a part of who I am today. She's one that I will always love. I hope that no matter how much time passes, we can always catch up and be friends again.

My favorite memories with Claire
1- Caroling in Salt Lake City every Christmas
2- Playing in her closet and trying on her crazy clothes
3- Swinging on the swings with her at 2 am in below zero weather
4- Laughing so hard we couldn't move and falling asleep in our hallway
5- Being in Godspell with her as the director
6- Anything related to Halloween
7- Birthday parties

I love my Tink. I miss her so much right now, after writing this.

Now Brent, what do I say about him? He is the love of my life. He's been gone on his mission for 22 months now, so I'll get to see him really soon. I met Brent through Claire, so I think it's fitting that the picture is of the two of them. Brent was like a brother to Claire. It was really fun to have her to hang out with when we were dating, and we've been able to talk to her about each other when we had great stories to tell. Brent and I started dating in November of 2005 and have enjoyed each other's company ever since then. We've had our ups and downs, but we love each other and hope that we can pick things back up when he gets home.

I Love Christmas!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I love wrapped gifts! One year when I was growing up, I wrapped almost all the gifts. I even think I wrapped most of my presents. My mom would give me a box to wrap and then I would ask what to write on the label. Sometimes she'd say, "you!" I also loved making up crazy names for the labels. I would use email addresses, riddles, middle names, all kinds of things to make it more interesting on Christmas.
2. Real tree or Artificial? I love the real trees. There is just an energy that comes from something living. I imagine I'll probably have artificial, but I LOVE the real trees.
3. When do you put up the tree? When my roommates bring it up.
4. When do you take the tree down? When we come back from Christmas Break.
5. Do you like eggnog? I used to. It has too much sugar now. If anyone finds sugar free eggnog, they should let me know!
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I remember getting a really great plastic vanity. I also remember really loving a dog that walked. I can't remember too many gifts as a child. As a teen, my best gift was probably my lap top. I use it everyday.
7. Hardest person to buy for? My dad

8. Easiest person to buy for? Myself? haha! No, I usually can find something for about anyone.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? I do, but I forgot to bring it with me. I guess I can have it up for the two weeks I'm here after thanksgiving.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Neither so far. I'll probably do a Christmas blog or something. :)
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? My ACT score. It was lower than my first one. That was a disappointment.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie(s)? I love A Christmas Story, I don't care that most people say they feel like they've dropped an IQ score after watching it. I still love it. I also love a Charlie Brown Christmas. I DO NOT love Mr. Kroger's Christmas or Home Alone. Let it be known to the world!
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Sometime in November. My family loves the day-after Thanksgiving tradition. But, if I see something spectacular, I'll buy it before then.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?Probably. I have have no idea though.
15 .Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?Sweets, I'm probably going to send myself into diabetic coma one of these years. I also love the fruit and nuts.
16. Lights on the tree? I like white lights that twinkle with lots of colorful ornaments.
17. Favorite Christmas song?
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, as performed by the Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan. I love almost all Christmas songs though.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Probably not. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, ....Rudolph....Olive? Okay, I did it. Wahoo!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? It depends on what we can talk mom and dad into. :)
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Traffic, SNOW, and crabby shoppers.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I'm a bit obsessed with green. It comes out this time of year.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? I don't care about what we eat as much as being with the family.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? To get through my finals!
26. If you had to choose, presents or a stocking? Presents

Babes and a Baby

We have a new member to welcome to the Jones family! My sister Michelle had baby number 4 on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 3:03 pm. His name is Preston Michael Fredericks.

Anytime a new baby does something, it's very exciting and everyone has to see.

Chelise is so excited to be a big sister againAlec holding Preston. I was Alec's age when Alec was born. I wonder if they'll have a relationship anything like Alec and I.

The first thing Dallin said when he walked into Michelle's hospital room is "this looks boring!" But, he seemed pretty smitten with his baby brother.

Melissa and I got Burger King for people who hadn't eaten yet. We decided everyone that wasn't a parent deserved a Burger King crown.

4 out of my 7 nieces and nephews

Erin, Ashley and I decided that we didn't need no stinkin' boys to have a good time. We went to dinner at Chilli's last night. We got a few whistles from boys on the street on the way into the restuarant, so we must have looked pretty good.

Me, Erin, and Ashley.

Goldilocks no more

It's time for a change!

Sometimes after girls make a change in their life, they feel the need to change the outside too. So, I of course stereotypically went out and bought some dye (non-permanent) and dyed my hair. It's called "Navajo Bronze," very exotic. My girl Stephanie came over and we died hers too. We made a girls' night out of it and watched While you were Sleeping and did facials. This stuff will wash out in about 2 months, but it will be fun while it lasts!

8 Random Facts about ME!

Kathy tagged me on this....a really long time ago. But, I haven't had notecards lurking from across the table like the are right now. This seemed like a good diversion (:

1. I'm not sure how random this is, but my absolute favorite color is green. I think it borderline's on obsession. I'm love color as it is, I'm one of those people who will pay more for something if I can get it in my color. If I can get it in green, watch out. Right now, my phone is green, my wallet and my purse are green, my headphones for my MP3 player are green, my favorite pen writes in black ink, but has a green casing, just to name a few. If you ever are in doubt, just get something green for me.

2. The color yellow is growing on me. People keep telling me that my personality makes them think of yellow, and it's frustrating to me. It's not that I don't like yellow, it's just the last on my list of favorites. I really wish people would associate me with green. However, I do get some funny color associations, like my roommate who told me I was purple because I'm an eggplant. I guess that mean's I'm unique.

4. I like my body and myself. I was talking with my professor the other day about plastic surgery and I told her I could never have plastic surgery. I don't have a perfect body by any stretch of the imagination, but it's MY body. I can't think of anything to change; it wouldn't be mine anymore. I'm also VERY attached to my curly hair. It's a great big part of my identity. I think my URL for my blog even says "numberonecurliegurlie" One of my greatest fears is that I'll have babies and my hair will go straight. I would have an emotional breakdown, I'm pretty sure.

5. I'm a social work major at Utah State University. I really love going to school and I'm really excited to get out there in the world and help people. My goal is to eventually start programs for females to help them love their bodies and themselves. Next year for my practicum, I think I either want to work for LDS Family Services or Avalon Hills, the inpatient clinic for girls and adults with eating disorders.

6. In my Junior year of high school, I learned about fantasy prone personalities. To my understanding, they are people with vivid imaginations who constantly night dream and day dream. I am pretty sure that's me. I have such vivid dreams I often get them confused with reality, especially since I add some fantasticalness to reality. It's not unusual for me to ask my friend if I dreamed something or if they remember it happening too. Sometimes I really can't remember. I also imagine how situations I am anticipating will go. Sometimes I get so involved, I start acting them out. If you ever see me muttering to myself, that's probably what I'm doing. You can just ask who I'm talking to.

7. I absolutely hate being alone. The other day my friend Myles and I were talking about the difference between introverts and extroverts. He said that he heard that both groups like people, but that introverts get energy taken away from being with people while extroverts gain energy from being with people. I am MOST DEFINITELY and extrovert by that definition. I hate being alone and I get lonely so easily. Last semester was really hard for me because I only had 2 roommates who were RARELY home. I spent a lot of time looking for people. I do need time to myself, but not very much.

8. I always have a hard time using up the rest of things. Like this survey, I couldn't think of one thing that was more important than another one to use. So, I used this. I'm kind of a horder. I use things until they have just a little bit left, and then I save it until I NEED it. I have 1 whitestrip left, waiting for a rainy day. I have a whole bunch of lotion bottles with a few squeezes left. I'm getting better about throwing things out and using them, but it goes against my nature.

Anyway that reads this and has a blog and hasn't done it yet, you are now tagged!

The Paint Dance!

A new tradition at Utah State University is the paint dance during homecoming week. Last year it pioneered and it was so successful, they decided to do it again. We went to the hyper field and danced to music while pouring and splashing paint on each other. It was really fun. It's times like this I am reluctant to grow up and move on from college. How many "responsible" adults get to cover each other in paint?

We were having a group rumble. It kind of looks like some strange modern art.

Apparently I have attitude in this picture.

The whole group!

Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween, I decided to be storm from X-Men. It didn't work out quite perfectly, considering the fact that I'm about as white as you get, but I enjoyed having an excuse to make my hair crazy. My friends Molly Petersen and Wendy Moyes came from Farmington to attend the Howl with me. Wendy was a bag of brown sugar, and Molly was an elf. The Howl was fun, but there were SO many people there. A friend of mine that was on the committee told me that there were over 5,600 people there that night! No wonder the dance was so hot and sweaty. I mostly enjoyed the excuse to dress up and to party with my friends.
