Zion National Park Trip: Grafton Cemetery

On Friday after we checked out the hotel, we had a little time before we could check in. We decided to check out a little ghost town we heard about just outside of town. It was a bit of a drive to get there, but so worth it.

The first thing we saw there was the cemetery.

This little sign was just outside the entrance and it proved to be very informative:

It was very neat to see all these old headstones. They were all from the late 1800s.

All kinds of people are buried in this cemetery. This baby was especially heart-breaking.

We really wonder who this "Cedar Pete" guy was. That's the only thing marking his grave.
Many of the people in the cemetery were killed by Indians. I thought it was interesting they had these guys buried in the same place.

If you ever find yourself at ZNP, I HIGHLY recommend Grafton. It was a very cool trip. More to come!

what a cool post...that is a beautiful but somber place. Cool mountains in the distance.
