2013 Christmas Letter

I'm going to have to interrupt my sad attempt at blogging our trip from last year to bring you our Christmas letter! I was doing so well and then we got a new computer and it doesn't have Windows Live Writer on it. I'm still trying to figure something out!

2013 has been a good year for us. M'Recia recently reached her 1 year anniversary with North Canyon Care Center as their facility Social Worker and Brent has been with Wise Company (Food Storage) for about 3 years now.

We've been in our house for about 18 months and it feels like home! We've enjoyed all the opportunites to decorate and make it our own.

We've finally become "those people" when it comes to our dogs. We've gone from not letting them in our bedroom at all to having the sleep on the couch and on the bench in our bedroom (and, let's be honest, one of them is usually in bed with us when we wake up in the morning). Sometimes we're not sure whose house it is! The dogs have been a great blessing to us and we love them to death.

M'Recia teaches Relief Society once a month and Brent just got called to be Elder's Quroem Secretary this week. M'Recia has gotten into photography quite a bit this year and has taken a few photos she's pretty proud of. Brent continues to work on his Bachelor's degree in English and hopes to graduate this summer. He's already looking into Master's program so he can get his degree in Social Work and become a counselor. We both sing in the Salt Lake Choral Artists Concert Choir and enjoy being involved in something artistic again.

Last year when Brent's company sold, we came into a little bit of money and decided to live our dreams. We took a trip to New York City, London, Paris, and Rome. We had a marvelous time and we highly recommend it. In fact, we are so enchanted with travel that we are planning to go to Ireland and Scotland this spring.

In August of this year, M'Recia's younger sister got married. It was a wonderful family time and we really enjoyed the wedding. We're happy to have another brother to tease.

In October of this year, we FINALLY got our home study completed with LDS family services. Our profile can be viewed here:

We also have a facebook page: facebook.com/brentmreciaadopt

Being parents is our dream and we feel like we getting
a little closer. Adoptions these days are all about networking, so please share those links with everyone you know. Our caseworkers at LDS Family Services have told us that the key to being successful is to "get your name out there."

We are thankful for all the support we have already had from our friends and family.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Love,

Brent, M'Recia, Belle, and Beast
